From 2013-2014, 43% of companies experienced a data breach according to a recent survey by the Ponemon Institute. The average cost of a data breach is $5.4 million—per incident. Globally, 556 million individuals are impacted by data breaches every year – that’s greater than the population of the United States (319 million). When it comes to data breaches, it is no longer a matter of if, but when.
