DivcoWest hired Solomon McCown & Cence (SM&C) in the spring of 2019 to help raise awareness around its development Cambridge Crossing (CX). The new neighborhood is currently under construction but has begun opening retail locations last year, consists of a groundbreaking 43-acre new neighborhood that spans East Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston.

Our Strategy

In our role as the CX team’s PR partner, we are focused on handling ongoing media relations and working closely with them to create and manage content for CX’s social media channels across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, & LinkedIn. SM&C works on everything from coming up with ideas on instituting recurring content themes (such as our “neighborhood spotlight series”) to scheduling interviews with reporters, to supporting on-site events.

Our Results

To date, SM&C has worked with the CX team to create more than 1,300 social posts across channels, and have achieved the following results as of January 2021:

- Created and implemented engaging social media series
- Positioned Cambridge Crossing as a new neighborhood and supportive member of the local community that champions small businesses
- Achieved approximately 1.2M impressions across accounts
- Received more than 69K engagements across accounts

Additionally, we have facilitated opportunities that have resulted in prominent coverage in local and national outlets, including The New York Times, The Boston Globe,, Boston Business Journal and many more.
