Between local, national and trade media, keeping up with the latest healthcare headlines can be daunting. Luckily, there are plenty of newsletters that aggregate the most important headlines of the day. Here are a few that the Solomon McCown healthcare team finds most helpful.

Massachusetts Medical Society’s MediaWatch

This daily newsletter from the Massachusetts Medical Society includes a roundup of major healthcare news and commentary from Massachusetts and beyond. This newsletter is particularly helpful because it breaks the news into several organized categories: Across the Commonwealth (Massachusetts healthcare news), From the States (major headlines from other states), Across the Nation (national healthcare news), Around the World (global healthcare news), Articles/Interviews/Features (more in-depth articles about trends in healthcare and health policy), Commentary/Analysis (op-eds and columns from industry thought leaders), and Editorials (editorials from major national newspapers and publications).

Kaiser Health News’ Daily Health Policy Report

Kaiser’s Daily Health Policy Report is the go-to newsletter for national health policy headlines. It includes news from both Kaiser Health News and key publications across the U.S. If you want to keep up with new developments around the Affordable Care Act, changes to Medicare or Medicaid policy, or what bills Congress is working to pass – this is a good newsletter for you.

Becker’s Hospital Review

Becker's Healthcare is a leading source of healthcare business and legal information. In addition to publishing several monthly and quarterly magazines, Becker’s publishes a handful of e-newsletters. The Becker's Hospital Review e-newsletter is published Monday through Friday and provides a list of 10-or-so of the most popular business and legal stories affecting hospitals and health systems. Each edition includes links to Becker's Hospital Review's feature articles, including lists of “people to know” and “hospitals to know.”

FierceHealthcare’s Daily News for Healthcare Executives doesn’t include as many articles as the previous newsletters, but it provides additional important information, like upcoming events, webinars and whitepapers. The articles included in FierceHealthcare are written by their own editorial staff, rather than being a roundup of healthcare news from various publications. If you’re looking for news about a specific segment of the healthcare industry, Fierce also publishes newsletters like FierceHealthFinance, FierceHealthIT, FiercePharma and FierceEMR.
